Per Tom Hutchinson's request here's a quick guide for setting up
a playlist:
1. Bring up vanBasco Karaoke Player and click on the Playlist button
on the lower left of the main display.
2. You will probably see a Drag & Drop, New List, or some other
currently selected playlist displayed in the pull-down box on the upper
left side of the display.
3. To create a new playlist click the New button on the upper right
of the display.
4. Below the New, Rename, and Remove buttons is a pull-down box to
select the folder containing your MIDI files
5. You can see the contents of the currently selected folder in the
large box below this pull-down box.
6. When you see the desired MIDI files in the large box you can either
drag the file name to the large playlist box on the left side of
the display, use the < button to move the highlighted file to the left
side of the display, or use the << button to move all the files in the
currently selected folder to the left.
7. You can use the > and >> buttons to remove file name(s) from your
playlist. Also you can sort your playlist entries.
8. Use the Rename button on the upper right of the display to give your
new playlist a meaningful name.
9. Highlight one of the file names in your playlist and press the Play
Now button to start using this playlist.
10. Later on, if you should wish to edit your playlist, use the
pull-down box on the upper left of the display to select the playlist
you wish to modify, rename, or delete. Follow the previous steps for
adding or removing files from your playlist. Playlists are stored in
the vanBasco program folder as a VPL file.
Now that you have built your playlist and selected it for playing
some MIDI files, you can close the playlist display. On the main menu
display you can click on the Control Button on the bottom of the display
and edit the currently selected MIDI file. You can alter the tempo,
pitch, and volume of the currently selected file.
If you save the changes with the Save to List button on the display,
the changes are saved in the playlist only, NOT in the MIDI file
itself. The software is not a MIDI editor. You can restore the
original settings for the MIDI file by clicking on the Reset button
on the Control display. The check box in the center of the display
lets you select between your playlist settings and the original file
setting for the currently selected MIDI file.
Hope this short tutorial helps. Enjoy!
