John Tuttle asks a simple question; the answer is not so simple
because it depends on where the weight is placed. Art Reblitz'
book says the pneumatic should collapse under its own weight,
but much comment I have heard is "they never do that."
I have a paper in the MMD Archives which analyses this problem.
Additionally, I have analysed the construction of many original
cloth samples and have developed a manufacturing specification
for a suitable cloth material. All this information is intended
for publication and it will be done in the fullness of time.
