Vacuum Level for Calliope Player
By Larry Claus

We are getting close to having my "mutt" calliope use the "A" roll
player. My roll player uses an electric motor, so I don't need vacuum
for that, just for the pneumatics, lock-and-cancel, etc.

I still need to come up with a vacuum source and am hoping that an old
player piano suction box will work. I would like to know what would be
the typical vacuum level used, in inches of water.

Larry Claus

[ It is not clear to me whether Larry is asking for the typical
[ level need to operate the pneumatics of a calliope or the typical
[ vacuum level delivered by a player piano suction box. So maybe
[ responders can answer both questions.
