Bremond Musical Box Governor Gear Ratio
By Alan Bailey

I have a Bremond musical box, serial number 21269, in the early
stages of restoration. It has no governor so I will have to make one.
The worm and worm gear I can purchase from Nancy Fratti. The gear on
the end of the cylinder needs replacing as the teeth are all leaning.
Gears I can make.

So, my question is, does anyone know what the (approximate) overall
gear ratio -- cylinder to endless screw -- should be? I have heard
a similar box to mine playing and a tune consisting of one cylinder
revolution plays for close to 45 seconds. Any ideas would be welcome.
