Unknown Rags & Ragtime Songs on Early "G" Rolls
By Erik York
Those are great sounding rolls and kudos to John Mottoros and friends
for having them re-cut for all to enjoy. The only one I could recall,
G73-04, is "The Mad House Rag", music by Freddie Watson and words by
Edgar Leslie, (C) 1911 by F.A. Mills, New York.
It's an unusual ragtime song with "interesting" lyrics about ragtime
dancing in an insane asylum <lol>. Sheet music with lyrics is
available via Indiana State University at
http://webapp1.dlib.indiana.edu/inharmony/detail.do?action=detail&fullItemID=/lilly/starr/LL-SSM-2-305-0177
Best of luck with the others.
