Using Tracker Bar Pump
By Craig Roothoff

Unless you are extremely strong and quick, I can't imagine that
a tracker bar pump could come close to the power of a good vacuum
cleaner. I have a small and large canisters that pull 45 inches and
100 inches vacuum respectively. If anything, I would worry that 100
inches of vacuum pull might damage original, (inevitably) deteriorated
pouches! 45 inches is about the highest suction that is ever called
for by reproducing pianos.

I've always found regular cleaning to be best. Any tech that's
dismantled a player that wasn't regularly pumped knows what a mess
builds up in these things. Waiting until failure is too late to start
this sort of maintenance. By the time lines start to plug, there's
likely a dreadful accumulation of dust particles.
