I am selling these two complete pipe organ player systems. Photos
of all items are available upon request.
1. Kimball organ player. This is a working player which plays
92-note Kimball rolls. There are also 84 Kimball rolls which are
included with the system. In addition to playing individual notes,
the rolls are punched to open and close swell shades and to change
registrations. The system further has its own preset panel which
can be changed, and the entire system can play the organ with or
without a console installed.
These rolls played the Colonial Theatre Kimball organ in Seattle,
Washington, from 1915 to 1918. This player is still installed and
is playing at the present time so that it can be heard and seen in
operation. Asking price is $2,500 for the player and rolls.
Note: Also available is the original 1914 Kimball three manual
console that was in the Colonial Theatre. It is connected with
the organ, and if it is desired, it is available at no cost to the
purchaser of the player system and the rolls.
2. Welte organ player. This is a Welte player with a 10-roll changer
and 184 rolls, all of which are in steel canisters. The restoration
has been started on both the changer and the relay, but it has not been
completed and this will be necessary to make this unit work.
The rolls have 150 notes and, while some are transcriptions, most are
recordings by a live artist who is named on the label of each roll.
Thus, they reproduce the musical number exactly as it was originally
played, with edits. Asking only $2,000 for the player and the rolls.
