Seek Photos of Frati Barrel Organ
By Craig Wiley
I recently purchased a ca. 1890 Frati barrel organ that's been
converted to play 48-key B.A.B. music rolls. The original black
finish has been stripped off the organ's front and the wooden
ornamentation on top is missing.
I want to restore it as cosmetically accurately as possible but
I have only one old engraving of a similar style Frati to use as
reference -- and it's not a very clear image. The woodwork design
and gold ornamentation are nearly identical to the center portion
of the Port Dalhousie Frati; the only difference is that on mine,
the name "Frati & Co. Berlin N" appears in arched letters across
the top center.
Are there Any Frati owners or enthusiasts out there who might be
able to help me? I'd be happy to email you photos.
