I grew up in New York City, and made many visits to the library in
question. They had a different booklet by Schaaf, written along the
same lines as the article Robbie linked to. To make a long story
short, you really need to make inquiries there in person, if you
haven't already. Unfortunately for those who live at a distance
(and this applies to many other collections), budget cuts, indifferent
data-entry temporary employees, thieving patrons and a host of other
problems have resulted in on-line catalogs that don't match physical
inventory.
