Wurlitzer Spinet Solenoid Player Piano
By Don Teach

I think the Wurlitzer Spinet Players were introduced in the mid-1960s
and were not made in the 1950's. The electronics were developed by
Teledyne, I think.

I remember seeing them when they were introduced at a NAMM show in
Chicago. Seeburg also had a room with their player but I seem to
remember it was just a photo in the room and no actual piano, or it
was there and did not play as they had not finished it in time for the
show. Larry Givens was there and was very nice as were most of the
piano tradesmen to a very young player enthusiast.

Ramsi Tick had a Steinway Duo-Art grand to show off his Q.R.S.
rolls. He had one Duo-Art roll but the player played it with little
expression. The show in those days was in the Hilton Hotel.
