I participate in a couple of the phonograph forums and occasionally the
Saturday night chat room and find them very informative.  The nicest
attribute about the forums is that responses are received immediately
and you can look through topics of discussion readily and easily.

You can even post pictures of musical instruments under your topic of
discussion.  All current and past topics are right there for you at
your finger tips, whether you are conducting research or you just want
to browse all current and past topics.

MMD is a great resource list, but I find forums are easier to use since
all archives are right there in front of you which makes the search of
past topics easier.  So I recommend trying out a forum.  It may yield
better results than you think.
