If it works, don't fix it! I fully support what Kevin McElhone says.
There just is no need for an MMD Forum. MMD works very well and
elicits responses where they are requested, so what more will a forum
bring to the table?
It is important for everyone to use their correct name and this
also works well with MMD. What good reason does someone have to
use an alias? Surely we are all adults and can take responsibility
for our opinions? There will always be a question hanging over any
anonymous posting so such is clearly useless and of no help to anyone.
MMD also has the advantage of being moderated by the editors so it is
devoid of litigious and insulting content.
On a few occasions I tried to use IMOD but I always ended up with
a virus so that put an end to that! Maybe that was the reason for
its death. The MBSGB recently tried to host a forum but this has
now been discontinued due to lack of use.
I always refer people to MMD. It has the widest readership and
respondership (if there is such a word) but I would like to see it
become more global with an increase in the number of non-USA authors
and a broadening of the range of mechanical music subjects covered,
but this can only come from the membership themselves.
So it's "Well done and keep up the good work" to Robbie, Jody and
Matthew.
