I'm stumped as to how to open the lower cabinet of Deagan's "roll-top"
cabinet that contains the paper roll tape player in the upper cavity.
The upper roll-top opens fine, but there apparently is some locking
mechanism that prevents the lower cabinet from opening freely.  There
is no apparent key entry to the lower cavity, only the upper cavity
that opens freely.

There are two cabinet doors each with a brass knob, but pulling with
force does not open the doors.  The doors' hinges are recessed, but
could be disassembled if no other solution is evident.  Any advice is
welcome.
