Some time ago I was seeking Marshall & Wendell deck boards that
the striker pneumatics are mounted on. Unfortunately, due to some
mix-ups in the measuring, I now have some deck boards to give away.
Email me for the dimensions.
The instrument I am restoring was patched with white glue and the
boards and pneumatics were unsalvageable despite hours of toil.
Needed are three boards, 55 inches by 1-7/8 inches. If I need to
buy the pneumatics I will, however for shipping I would prefer to
buy the boards themselves.
The upright piano is nice sounding, refinished, and I don't want
to let it go to the dump for scrap. Bob Hunt and I talked about the
possibility of trimming the glue-mess boards with a table saw, but
the shipping back and forth was impractical. Because of the angle of
the board, planning them down would not work without a lot of extra
jigs. I used dado blades to clean off the glue and splinters, but the
results are too uneven and would require an impossible job of patching.
(It was worth the experiment -- learn from experience?!)
Please contact me if you have any leads on the needed parts.
