My Miner CA-53 Calliaphone has been on a float in three parades
now. The float was in the form of a steamboat and covered with
various Christmas lighting products, disco lights, and a fog generator.
In one instance this was all powered by an RV generator, and in another
by two Honda eu2000i generators connected in parallel mode.
The Calliaphone draws nearly 14 amperes when running, peak inrush
current is 25 amps (there are two blower motors) and that's near
the continuous output limit for a single Honda eu2000i. I've not
tried to run on one eu2000i for any length of time. Power for the
MIDI electronics is provided by a 'normal' 110 VAC to 12 VDC power
supply fed by the generator.
For a small generator, the Honda eu2000i is fairly quiet. The RV
generator was also fairly quiet; unfortunately I don't have the
specs for it.
