Story & Clark "Orpheus" Player Reed Organ
By Ruthann Pieger
I own a Story & Clark player reed organ, of circa 1889, which has been
completely restored by my late father. It is fairly small as player
reed organs go. It has a 61-note keyboard and measures 51 inches high,
49 inches wide, and 24 inches deep. To my understanding, the only
other Orpheus is located in England.
Does anyone know of any other of these instruments out there anyplace,
or do I truly have the only one in this country? Does anyone have any
other information about this instrument?
