I should have mentioned that yes, "blues", "rags" and other piano
rolls are definitely more valuable than the normal 1920's through
'50's pop rolls. The caveat is that they're original and not re-cuts
from the 1960's.
As for the piano itself, an electric pump can probably be installed
which will improve its ability to play. This is a temporary solution
and eventually the player portion of the piano, and the piano portion
itself, will need to be rebuilt. After 90 some years of use things
just wear out.
For a complete piano rebuild, re-string and refinish plus having
the player rebuilt you can expect to spend somewhere in the area of
$10,000. When you're done you'll have a piano that looks great and
plays well. A logical first step would be to have the piano checked
by a C.P.T. [Certified Piano Technician] who can advise on what the
piano portion needs. After that the decision can be made as to what
you want to do.
