Ray Scheffy's Musical Memories Museum in Allentown, Pa., is a very nice
collection. The most frequent visitors are student groups.
Nisan Cohen's Nisco Museum of Mechanical Music in Ein Hod, Israel,
hosts several school groups per week. Many of those students take
their parents to see and hear the mechanical musical marvels on the
weekend. The museum suffered greatly during last year's Mt. Carmel
fire, but reopened on March 1,2011. Some of the music boxes are now
just mechanisms. Others have charred or blistered cases, but still
work. The Ampico piano was blackened, but is back in shape again.
This is the only mechanical music museum in the Middle East, as far as
I know.
