How to Interest People in Mechanical Music
By Peter Vander Veld

It would seem to me that for anyone to become interested in
mechanical music they must first be interested in music. For
example, if one has no interest in piano music they are unlikely
to appreciate player pianos or reproducing pianos. If they don't
particularly care for waltzes and marches, they are unlikely to
be interested in band organs.

It's always a good idea to expose people to "new" things but not to
expect them to become especially enthusiastic. Just be satisfied if
they do.
