Aeolian Take-up Spool Needed
By Ferdinand Pointer

I have a school customer with an Aeolian modern player missing the
take-up spool. This is the spinet from the 1970's.

The take-up spool has been removed and lost. Does anyone have one
around? All of the modern Aeolian spools are alike and fit inter-
changeably whether console, spinet, or short 64-note players. The
spool is usually painted gold and has clear plastic guides on each
side. It is easily removed by slight movement to the left against
a spring to permit removal from the drive on the right side.

I would like to replace this so the kids can be exposed to our player
piano world. The school has over 200 rolls, and up until two years ago
the piano worked. A new director who just came to the school found it
inoperable. She called me to repair it, but I no longer have the huge
room of parts, since closing my big shop over a year ago.

If you have a spool, or know of someone who does have one, please let me
know, as I would like to acquire it for the school.
