I am seeking information on a potential source for "Fanfare" or
"Clarion" miniature trumpets that would be held by a figure or statue
that would grace the front of a band organ or fairground organ.
More common for European fairground organs than American band organs,
these figures or statues were inspired by bandmasters, conductors, or
musicians, and often took the appearance of a musician or person
holding a small musical instrument referred to as a "fanfare" or
"clarion" trumpet.
These weren't operational but visually complimented the ornate facade
and fit in well with the music produced by the organ. They seemed to
be usually made of brass, but also possibly other material such as
wood.
The trumpets I seek have a length of about 20" with a width and bell
to match proportionally. They are sized to fit female musician figures
about 33" high and about 18" wide. The trumpets are held by the figure
and pointed at an angle toward the organ center top.
In an Internet search, there are sources for fanfare trumpets but
these are all much too long and sized proportionally incorrectly, so
merely cutting the length would not work. Additionally, most of these
trumpets are working instruments which is not needed for this use.
My need is probably more for a "toy" type of trumpet than an actual
working instrument, but it must be visually accurate for its purpose.
I'm open to existing sources as well as suggestions on having them made
to the above specification.
