Organ Rally in Urbandale, Iowa, 14-15 May 2011
By Ted Guillaum
It is just one week until the COAA rally at The Living History Farms,
Urbandale, Iowa, on May 14-15, 2011. Join us for another rewarding
rally experience in a fun and historically correct setting. Last year
was a huge success and the park broke its one-day attendance record.
The theme once again is "Country Carnival" and Saturday is also Iowa
Museum Day so you can expect a good crowd. Organs will be lined up
from one end of Main Street to the other in the 1875 town of "Walnut
Hill" which is a reconstructed Iowa settlement. Costumes are
encouraged but not required. History is the theme of this 500-acre
open air museum. You will also want to visit the 1700 Iowa Indian
settlement, the 1850 pioneer farm, and the 1900 farm.
The rally location is a quarter mile from Interstates 35 & 80 (near
Des Moines). The Sleep Inn hotel is conveniently located on the farm
property. Contact the hotel directly at 1-515-270-2424 to make a
reservation.
