Hi All, When all other problems have been eliminated, I have found
that the roll speed can be changed (slower or faster) by adjusting the
leather nuts on the leaf spring that controls the governor portion
[vacuum regulator] of the Tempo mechanism, just like you do during
original setup using a test roll.
I have found that after some time this adjustment needs to be re-done
as the related components on the piano are affected by humidity, age,
etc. Increase the spring tension to speed up the roll and decrease the
tension to slow down the roll. The only trick is getting to the rear
of the drawer to do it!
My piano needs to be 'tweaked' after a couple years of operation.
(I don't know why this has not been suggested before. It seems too
simple to overlook. Am I way off base for some reason?)
