Dear Folks, This is just an addendum to the previous postings by myself
and others about Harvey and Marion and their collection. I was sent
this link which some folks will find interesting as it shows some of
the "upstairs" instruments. The page for the downstairs instruments
has apparently been lost.

Michael Roseboom suggests that the Tangley was bought by a collector
in Elmira, New York. That would be Bob Oppenheim. I have talked
with Bob a number of times but had forgotten that he got the Tangley.
Looking at the photos on the link above, I had also forgotten about
the Tom Thumb Recordo. That was a very fine little piano with
a wonderfully robust sound. I believe that was one of the four
instruments picked up by Mike McKilligan after many of the other
instruments were sold. Michael Roseboom indicates that Mr. McKilligan
also got the American Fotoplayer. That is probably correct and I had
just forgotten.
This morning I looked for my notes about the Roehl's instrument sales
and was not able to find them. They may be around here someplace but
six years ago, we seriously downsized and moved to Florida and, between
the things that were discarded and more that was re-filed (from four
filing cabinets to two), there are just some things I haven't been able
to locate.
I have some pictures of Roehl's house after Marion died and it is very
sad to look at them. I have many pictures taken over the years while
Harvey and Marion were active and they are much happier to look at.
Most of those are pre-digital and stashed away someplace. I think all
of the instruments have gone to new owners and I trust that they are
caring for them and enjoying them greatly.
Regards,
Bob Conant
