Dear MMD, Several years ago I loaned my small studio upright pumper
to a local little theater group that was performing "The Music Man"
for their summer musical production. The piano was the hit of the
show and I supplied the appropriate rolls that are called for in the
production, "Columbia, The Gem Of The Ocean" and "Rustle of Spring",
as well as the ORS medley of "The Music Man" for the overture.
The piano was returned to me safely after the show, but recently a
former member of the cast asked me if I had still had the piano and
could I make her audio recordings of those rolls on my piano for her
elementary school's upcoming Music Man production because they don't
have the ability to move the piano this time.
I said that I would be glad to record the piano roll renditions for
them to use. However, when I looked for the rolls in my collection,
I could not find any of them. Either I never got the rolls back from
the theater group or somehow in the past I must have loaned them out,
but I have absolutely no recollection of it now and don't want to
invest in the purchase of these rolls again.
Would any members who have these rolls in their collection and a
working player consider recording these performances on cassette or CD
and mail or e-mail them to me for her? It would mean so much to the
school. If not, I would be glad to borrow these rolls from someone
to record on my piano. I would be glad to pay postage both ways and
leave a deposit to guarantee return of the rolls. Thanks very much.
