Yikes! Never, ever, ever use silicone glue to attach pneumatics or
anywhere else near a piano stack. I've came across a player stack that
I had to rebuild and it was a nightmare due to the fact that it had
silicone glue used everywhere. It's slippery and I had to remake the
stack boards from new wood because the silicone had seeped into the
wood. Yeah, go ahead and use silicone glue on those stacks, but don't
expect them to ever be restored again, and the silicone will eventually
dry out and the boards will fall off.
I use only hot glue when I restore things at Piano World here in Alton,
Illinois. Hot glue is the best around; it has been used for hundreds
of years. Don't go messing with perfection.
My 2 or 3 cents!
