1919 Chickering Grand Needs Ampico Parts
By Bruce Stevens

Hi all, I have a 1919 Chickering 6' 5" grand ex-Ampico that has had
all of its Ampico mechanism removed. The only mystery is there is
a slot in the keybed for poppet-style pushrods. Perhaps they used
an Autopiano stack instead of Amphion?

Normally the back end of the keybed is cut away to let the Amphion
stack pushrods contact the back of the action keys. I have never
seen such a beast -- has anyone else? If so, please either contact
me through MMD or by email. Thanks!
