The little modern player piano actually has a 220-volt suction motor.
When the piano was new, that was enough. The higher-voltage motor
turned at half speed, which was enough to run the player stack without
much noise. That is why you cannot get as much suction out of that
electric pump as from the foot treadles.
Barring rebuilding the player, simply remove the motor and order a
similar 110-volt double-vane motor from Grainger. This will double the
suction, but will make a little more noise. I've done this to the
modern Aeolians, and they will play for a time.
