I'm scanning a rare Capitol A-roll for recutting, number 2438.
It is vintage of 1933-1934. It is missing the first five feet or so
of tune number 9, "I've Got to Pass Your House to Get to My House".
Does anyone have either this roll or the Capitol 88-note roll the
tune was based on? If so I'd be grateful to borrow it to complete
this very nice, rare and fun roll. I can reconstruct the A-roll
arrangement from the 88-note roll if necessary.
Matt Jaro says, "The ninth song, 'I've got to Pass by ...,' seems
to be totally obscure. There is one reference to the song on the
Internet giving Ernie Andrews as the artist, but no other rolls
have that song. That is really bad luck -- the one song that is
irreplaceable is missing some footage."
The roll will be recut one way or another, with a substitute tune
or maybe the shortened tune 9. Who could resist the first tune,
"The Last Roundup," done in a light-hearted tongue-in-cheek style?
