I ordered a few rolls from Melvin Wright in England a while ago. He
emailed me that other customers had contacted him asking about orders
they had not received. Mel investigated and found that a lot of parcels
from Britain sent "airmail" to the USA have been delayed.
The complete story is not clear. Part of the problem may be the bad
weather around Christmas which closed London airports. In addition, it
is thought that new security measures have prohibited mailed packages
from traveling on passenger airplanes. It is rumored that some may
actually been transferred to ships, and that others are deep in a
screening stack at some terminal.
I had an earlier experience with a small parcel from China containing
electrical parts. It was mailed promptly in late November, but did not
arrive until mid-January, even though sent air-mail.
It appears that if you are currently frustrated with a missing package
from overseas, you should give your vendor/giver the benefit of the
doubt.
