Zenph Recreates Sound of Great Musicians
By Spencer Chase

It is true that Zenph creates new performances from old recordings
and they do a remarkably good job. I have no idea how much is done
automatically by computer and how much is done by critical listening
and editing, but I do know that the results are amazing.

In addition to audio recordings, Zenph also make files to play on
the Live Performance LX player system. So far there are just two
recordings for that system but more are in the works and I can't wait.

Most people agree that the best recording of the Bach Goldberg
Variations is the Glenn Gould performance of 1959 (I'm not sure of
the date, but it is the earlier of the two that I am referring to).
I was never able to enjoy it fully because I was distracted by Mr.
Gould's vocalizations. The Zenph "re-creation" sounds exactly like
the audio recording (I have both the early and late versions) minus
the humming and the record noise. I have played this CD for serious
musicians and they have been very impressed. I could listen to it
every day and not get tired of it.

Best regards,
Spencer Chase
