I recently bought a musical plate at an auction. It has hand-painted
cherubs on top and the base is a music box that plays two airs. It has
the original key.
On the bottom of the wooden base are two paper labels. One is round
and has the words Troll Baker Geneve, the other label is a rectangle
and has the name of the two airs, which is hard to read. I happen to
own a beautiful large Baker Troll music box with matching table and
four cylinders and it has the same type printing.
I was wondering if Baker Troll really made these musical plates.
I have not been able to find out anything, though I did hear from a man
who has a decanter with a musical base. Thank you for any information
you can shed on this plate.
Sincerely yours, I remain,
Muriel Carter
