I've bought a lot of stuff from this seller and he was happy to share
this little nugget of information with me.
"Mark: I was probably just as surprised as anyone... but there were
21 bids on the item! Several from some rather heavy-duty collectors.
I can only imagine that it's very scarce -- mindful, as I am, that
scarce is meaningless if it's not also desirable. But, being a
railroad-related item -- and being that it has a Canadian connection
as well as being a very late issue for the original MelODee label --
I guess that those things added up to a combination of scarce and
desirable! Do any of your correspondents on this issue have a copy
of this roll?"
The key questions here are (1) Do the factors mentioned above dictate
the rarity and price of the roll, and (2) does any MMDer have (or has
had) a copy of this roll?
Thanks,
Mark Forer
