Rubber Bands Around Music Rolls
By Vincent Morgan

My experience with rubber bands is that most of them deteriorate
rather rapidly. Some simply disintegrate, but others seem to turn
to stone and adhere to the paper, especially those over 20 years old.
Removing them can be a chore and sometimes makes a long hole in the
paper.

I have been using the green garden Velcro tape found in garden supply
stores. This can be cut to any length to fit any size roll. It fits
snugly, but not too tight as to warp the roll. I have been doing this
for about 5 years and nothing has deteriorated, warped or adhered to
the paper.
