As far as I know all the Estey music rolls were made "drawing board"
style. Estey contracted out the punching of the rolls to a firm
who also did the Möller organ rolls. That company sold their roll
punching equipment to Möller and Estey's source for making rolls was
ended. Shortly thereafter the 1929 stock market crash pretty well
ended player rolls and home organs.
Estey published a very elaborate book that was leather bound, with
gilded pages detailing all their rolls with, in some cases, a very
large article about the music, etc. I was fortunate in removing an
organ that had the two roll books and a updated version of the player
that would play the "New Music".
There were a very few rolls made for the "New Music" system. I traded
the New Music relay to Larry Leonard for some regular Estey rolls to
add to my collection. Larry would be the guy to talk to as he has
forgotten more about Estey than anyone will ever remember.
