I read Peter Mintun's post; I continue to be amazed at the people that
post here -- such talent and abilities! I personally am not sure if
I lack the training, ability or confidence, or all. I work with my
best friend as mainly a helper in player pianos. I do mainly the
trouble shooting and grunt work but no actual recovering or regulating.
I worked for a music store and I could regulate for lost motion better
than the owner.
As a church organist, I cannot read bass clef, I have to re-write all
my music adding chords. I feel this might be a learning disability.
I play with a very talented pianist and I always feel much below her
talent wise.
All that being said, I played Dvorak's Largo as an offertory today,
using a trumpet stop (Hammond BV) and it brought tears to many eyes!
I played it at a church I attended before and got lots of compliments
on it there, too.
