Band 0rgans Always Played at Herschell Museum
By Doug Hershberger

I read with sadness and understanding about the unhappy experiences
of folks expecting to hear band organ music and sometimes traveling
a distance only to be disappointed and frustrated.

There is a place where band organs are revered and played daily for
visitors -- it is the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum in North
Tonawanda, New York. We have two genuine old-fashioned Herschell
Carrousels and two genuine Wurlitzer band organs. Both carrousels
are in use and both band organs are played!

Our operators play the band organs, play the favorite rolls requested,
rewind the roll to their favorite tunes, clean the screens, and howl
for me if they think something isn't right with either one of them.
Visitors questions are answered and the organs explained to all who
express interest.

A complementary attraction at the Museum is the Wurlitzer Music Roll
Department which is set up in full public view. The perforator is
often running and questions asked there are patiently, thoroughly,
and enthusiastically answered. Visitors usually express surprise
and delight at their experience -- it is so much more than a ride on
a merry-go-round. We are one of the best family oriented attractions
to be found anywhere. Come and see.
