For sale: Regina Corona 27" Changer, style 34 in oak, double doors
with brass spandrels, coin operated. The Regina is a late type
(serial 65588) with the very reliable changing mechanism and piano
soundboard and it has the rare option of a good working zither
(banjo) arrangement. Supplied with twenty-four excellent 27" discs:
12 are originals and 12 are brand new copies by Renaissance Discs.
The Regina has been extensively restored, beyond museum quality,
in the year 2009-2010. The mechanism runs smooth and very reliable.
With the two spring barrels fully wound, the full set of 12 discs can
be played without the need for re-winding. The comes, star wheels,
dampers, etc have been reconditioned, re-tuned and timed by Lester
Johnes (UK).
The sound of this Regina is overwhelming, with perfect timing. Because
of the re-voicing of the combs, experts claim it is probably sounding
better than new, as in the early days this voicing at the factory could
not be executed so accurately as it has been done by Lester. The keys
for the doors and coin box were missing, but have been accurately
reproduced. The original crank is there, but two exact copies of the
original are also included.
There is full documentation of the restoration with many pictures,
which can be uploaded or sent to you after emailing me. Asking price
is 24,500 euros. The unit is located in the Netherlands, international
transport can be arranged.
