Dear Herr Herr! Anything is quite possible. If the order and
shipping ledgers of both Aeolian and Steck could be procured, it might
show that the piano was initially ordered for export. Anything could
have happened between the time that the order was placed, when the
piano was assembled and prepped, or prior to the date of shipping.
If the family that presently owns this piano can verify that they were
the first and only ones to possess it, what's to say that this piano
didn't actually make a trip abroad and back? (One way to question this
is to check the electric motor -- is it original to the instrument?
What mains current is it rated at?) Whudda' ya' think?
Sincerely,
