I recently finished a book called "Hide Glue", by Stephen Shepherd.
I found it a good read, useful for someone who uses hot hide glue
often. There are lots of tidbits about historical uses and methods.
The question I have is he mentions the use of alcohol to break a glue
joint. Alcohol absorbs the water out of the joint and weakens it.
Has anyone tried this trick on players? Does it work? Any tips on the
method of using it? Will it work to break apart Ampico valve joints?
How about removing pneumatics from decks?
