This is to draw the attention of all MMD colleagues to the fact
that Aeolian Duo-Art pipe organ Opus 1645, a II/13 instrument, will
be featured for the full half-hour TV program "Crescendo!" Besides
giving a brief history of the organ, the 176-note player is especially
featured with music of various kinds played on rolls on the TV program.
Perhaps the most notable feature of this installation is placement
of the pipes around the listener (ceiling, walls, floor) while still
preserving expression on most ranks. A 1912 Aeolian/Steinway Model O
grand piano is also part of the organ and is demonstrated along with
other features of mechanical music.
In the Pacific Northwest or Seattle area, the program will be aired
on both Comcast Channel 77 and on Broadstripe Channel 23 on Thursday,
September 2, at 6:30 PM; on Saturday, September 4 at 8:30 PM; and also
on Tuesday, September 7 at 3:30 PM. All times are Pacific Daylight Time.
On all three occasions, the program can be seen free worldwide at
http://www.scantv.org/ with online streaming (click on lower left
corner of the opening screen; you must tune it at the show time in
order to get online streaming). If you are not in the Pacific
Northwest but have access to the Time Warner TV network elsewhere in
the USA, check the TV air time for the "Crescendo!" program in your
area. This particular program will air across the USA approximately
two weeks after it is initially shown in the Pacific Northwest.
