Let me start off by saying, Kennywood Park, West Mifflin, Pa., has a
great band organ on its Dentzel carousel. It is a Wurlitzer style 153.
But now the downside. This organ _needs_ a good tuning, as you would
expect for a constantly playing band organ. Then the snare and bass
drum mechanisms need some attention and adjustment.
The organ was playing Christmas selections; so I offered my services to
change the roll. But the grumpy attendant said a firm NO! Otherwise a
great organ and great carousel. Does anyone else have memories of this
wonderful gem?

[ Do you remember the carousel's long-time operator, Tony Sacramento?
[ Kennywood is now corporately owned, having been sold to Parques
[ Reunidos by the Henninger and McSwigan families that owned it until
[ recently. Those former owners and Tony would never tolerate the
[ situation Kent Zacherl describes.
