First, a thank you to Joyce Brite for her efforts in posting the nice
pictures from Wichita.
I would agree to leave the sign up, as it really is part of the history
of that building. It probably would not be a bad idea to check with
the people putting up the historical plaques, though, to get their
feelings on the subject. If they have no problems with the sign,
someone should make sure it is secure, because some day someone will
surely try to take it for a souvenir or try to sell it. Signs seem to
be a hot item on the antiques market.
If the sign has no value to the historical people, I would think they
or the owners of the building would be interested in putting it up for
sale to the highest bidder, or a better idea would be to donate it to a
local Wichita museum.
Being that Joyce is on the scene, I nominate her to do the above
research. Do I hear a second?
