New Carousel in New York City Needs Band Organ
By Larry Racies
In New York City there's a brand new park, Chelsea Park, on the
Hudson River at 23rd street which contains a carousel. When I visited
it a low-fi sound system was playing disco music. Quel sacrilège!!
This carousel sorely needs a band organ. I'm hopeful that readers of
MMD can suggest ways to whip up community support so that a suitable
band organ may be acquired for this carousel.
Thanks in advance,

[ "Manhattan's newest carousel is now open at Hudson River Park's Pier
[ 62, near Chelsea Piers. The waterfront merry-go-round features 33
[ hand-carved figures, including several animals indigenous to Hudson
[ River Valley (we're partial to the sea turtle, raccoon and huge wild
[ turkey)."
