The Trustees of the Musical Box Society International (MBSI) agree
that audio recordings should be archived for posterity and the matter
was discussed at the last Trustee meeting. As usual, the question is
"Who will do it?"
MBSI is developing plans, however, for a library of books and
ephemera that could very well include audio recordings. There are
many CDs and tapes that have been produced over the years and, as the
proposal develops, MBSI will catalog the recordings they already have
and solicit donations of new material. It is a huge task and one that
will not happen in the short term unless someone volunteers to do it.
