Hi All, After all is said and done, if Marvin Horovitz doesn't
want to change the pulley, which is probably the simplest solution,
I expect that he won't want to change the mechanics at all. So
a motor speed controller seems the best solution.
Here is a controller from Harbor Freight for 20 bucks, and if you take
a few minutes to cut out their coupon in the paper, you can get 20% off
that, so it costs only $16. Believe me, if it can handle a router,
it can deal with that little motor in the roll frame. Can't get much
cheaper than that.

Harbor Freight doesn't make the finest tools in the land (China)
but for light duty and occasional use, their stuff is fine. It's also
good if you need to modify a tool for a special use. (And they sell
Evapo-Rust cheap!) Plus, they give you a free LED flashlight every
week if you bring the other coupon from the paper.
Regards,
Craig Smith
