AMICA Convention 7-11 July in Buffalo, New York
By Felix Klempka
Just a note to thank all those AMICANs who attended my autobiographical
"walk down memory lane" at the Buffalo convention. I thoroughly enjoyed
the experience, since talking about myself seems to be an ever increasing
source of joy to me nowadays. My many years at QRS were filled with
challenges and rewards that have left me with an enormous cache of
nostalgic warmth.
I hadn't attended an AMICA affair in several years so I was surprised and
delighted to see so many familiar and friendly faces. In addition, I was
glad to see so many new enthusiastic and dedicated members carrying on
the old traditions having assumed the mantle of preserving the craft.
In particular I was gratified to see Julian Dyer, who, amazingly, looks
not one bit older than when I first met him in London, some twenty years
ago. I can only assume that he has a painting in his attic absorbing
the ravages of time.
