Hello All, I am hoping that someone reading this posting may be able
to help. I want to arrange a particular old-time song for a street
organ and am looking for the sheet music, and also an Edison cylinder
that was made of the song. The song is called "Marie Louise",
composed and written by Monroe H. Rosenfeld, and first published by
J. Aldrich Libbey Co., New York, in 1895.
The publisher, Aldrich Libbey, must have been a fairly well-known
vocalist at the time on the New York vaudeville circuits, as the song
was sung by him on Edison cylinder 8204, recorded in 1902. Libbey made
around six recordings of different songs for Edison, probably of songs
from his own stage repertoire.
Please, does anyone have a copy of the sheet music or cylinder that they
are prepared to sell? I would be most grateful if anyone can also point
me in the direction of any collectors or dealers that may be able to help.
Many thanks in advance for any help or suggestions with this quest.
Kind regards,
Paul Baker
