Organ Rally in North Tonawanda 10-11 July 2010
By Dan Robinson
Craig Smith wrote in the 100713 MMDigest about attending the COAA
rally and AMICA convention in Buffalo and asked, "I wonder if any
MMDers who live nearby were able to attend the rally?"
I was there for both days of the rally, and had a very nice time.
It was fascinating to see the old Wurlitzer factory buildings and
tower. The beautiful grounds were filled with about 20 wonderful
band organs and more great people, and there was no threat of rain
all weekend. It was an excellent site for a rally. It's too bad
there will probably never be another there. Whatever your feelings
about Wal-Mart, I think all would agree it's a shame that much of
the Wurlitzer grounds will soon become a parking lot (ref. Mike
Walter's posting in the 100629 MMD). In any case, I'm sure a lot
of great memories were made there last weekend.
