Organ Rally in Sandusky, Ohio, 17-18 July 2010
By Wallace Venable

Carousel Organ Association of America (COAA) will hold a band organ
rally at the Merry-Go-Round Museum in Sandusky, Ohio, on Saturday and
Sunday, July 17th and 18th. This is the last of the eastern organ
rallies in 2010, with action moving to Iowa and Missouri later in the
season.

Over thirty organs, ranging from shoulder-carried hand-cranked "busker"
organs to carousel organs which fill a large trailer, will be present.
Some are antiques, others were completed this year.

The rally will take place in Washington Park, along US Route 6, across
the street from Merry-Go-Round Museum which is located at 301 Jackson
Street, Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Schedule:

  Saturday, July 17: Organs play from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday, July 18: Organs play from noon to 5 p.m.

In addition to the "Diamond Jubilee Gavioli", the attention getters
include Ron Bopp's smallish Verbeeck book music crank organ and Larry
Kern's Ambassador Stinson 2000M.

Dave Wasson expects the "Trudy and Friends" concert to take place
in the afternoons since we are not sure if evening playing will be
permitted. David says the performance time will be at, "Oh, maybe
2:00 or 2:30 each day."
